3rd European Congress on Post-Polio Syndrome

The Congress aims to promote better care for the large number of 700.000 Europeans suffering from late effects of polio by exchanging knowledge between health care professionals, researchers, polio survivors and patient organisation representatives from Europe and worldwide.

Although the majority of people in Europe affected by polio during the large epidemics of the previous century, is nowadays aging, there is also a considerable number of younger European immigrants with polio residuals who contracted polio more recently in their country of birth. Worldwide there are large numbers of young polio survivors who are facing a life ahead with polio residuals. We expect 200 – 250 delegates.

This Congress is promoted by the Rotary Club Vitoria, with the cooperation of Rotary International, and EPU (European Polio Union).
